I have been happily playing the same double pedal for the past 15 years, though I do try every new product that comes out. The Pearl Demon Double Pedal is the first product I’ve found that has led me away from my old standard.
This year at the NAMM show, the Demon Double Pedal got rave reviews all around. In my opinion, these reviews usually don’t stand up to serious players criticisms, but in the case of the Demon Double Pedal, I’m happy to say, the hype is warranted.
I took the Pearl P3002D out for a test drive during a band rehearsal to start. It was easy to put together, right out of the box, and required no adjustments. When our guitar player gave me the nod we were off the the races. I immediately noticed both the ease of play and fluidity of the pedal. I was also impressed with the fantastic left to right balance, there was really no difference in feel between the left and the right side, which made it feel similar to playing to single pedals, smooth and balanced.
The only small complaint I have after playing this pedal a number of times is that the felt beater flattens out a little too quickly, other than this small issue, I’m very impressed with the innovation Pearl used to pull together all the pluses of the best pedals on the market to create the P3002D Pearl Demon Double Pedal.
