I Love my Les Paul. Love it! But who likes breaking a string? It doesn't happen often but when it does… So I switched my Tune O Matic saddles to the Graph Tech String Savers and now I never break strings. Literally never- even playing bendy classic rock. Not only that, but I noticed that the tone is even "smoother", less edgy through a an overdriven amp. I actually prefer it. Next step is my Strat. The Graph Tech String Savers work and I highly recommend them.
