Neumann TLM102 Cardiod Condenser Microphone
Item: NNTLM102
Have a studio? Just tell your artists that they'll be singing into a Neumann.
Small in stature, the Neumann TLM102 is impressive in both sight and sound. Visually, it delivers the legendary design components of a Neumann microphone. The harmonious proportions and gleaming grille ring ensure that even at first glance, the TLM102 says "Neumann". Sonically, the Neumann TLM102 features a newly developed large-diaphragm cardiod capsule which withstands a maximum sound pressure level of 144 db. It can take whatever you throw at it: percussion, drums, or even guitar amps set to 12. Instruments that are not especially loud also benefit from the very fast transient response of the TLM102. The Neumann TLM102 really shines in the realm of vocals and speech; a slight boost above 6 kHz provides for excellent presence of the voice in the overall mix. Up to 6 kHz the frequency response is extremely linear, ensuring minimal coloration and a clearly defined bass range. Mechanically the capsule has an elastic suspension for the suppression of structure-borne noise. A pop screen integrated into the grille serves to suppress plosives in vocal and speech recording.
If you've always thought that your studio deserved a Neumann, now is the time.
(The microphone on this page is the TLM102-ni in the nickel finish. Also available as TLM102-mt in a matte black finish.)
