In 2012 Taylor's 712-ce assumes a distinctly Americana persona. A dark, gradually fading sunburst top inspired by the acoustic guitars of the 1930s, pairs well with the mocha-hued rosewood back and sides. And, for many guitar players, Indian rosewood is what it’s all about. The 712-ce Grand Concert is just that, a balanced combination of the full-bodied sound of Indian rosewood with the responsiveness of an Engelmann spruce top. An ivoroid binding, ivoroid heritage diamond inlays, a 3-ring abalone rosette, Venetian cutaway, and the Expression System pickup make this Taylor a fingerstyle workhorse that shines in any venue.
