Ovangkol, a beautiful hard tone wood from Africa, lends a crisp and exotic flare to the Taylor 455-CE Jumbo 12 String. Ovangkol, which pairs well with Sitka spruce, can accommodate a range of playing styles. Many find ovangkol to have a tone similar to Indian rosewood, but with it's own subtle and distintive characteristics. White binding applies a crisp counterpoint against the gloss top and mottled brown hues of ovangkol, while Taylor’s Expression System wires this Jumbo for high-fidelity amplified acoustic sound.
