Here's a Fano SP6 with a one-piece, bound top Mahogany body. You can see hints of the Mahogany grain through the Candy Apple Red top creating a beautiful effect that is very subtle. Tonally, the Mahogany adds a sweet bite to the string attack giving a welcomed twang to the bridge pickup, while the P90 in neck stays warm and milky.
One of my favorite features of the SP6 is the superior bridge assembly, which has a lot of mass to it, and has been redesigned for modern day players. The sides of the ashtray have been removed for better accessibility to the strings, and the brass saddles have beveled tops that create a truly intonated “3 brass saddle” bridge.
Further enhancements include tall, skinny 6105 frets, a compound radius fretboard that goes from 10” to 16”, Lindy Fralin pickups, and a smooth, raw wood feeling “back of the neck” that’s a dream to play.
