Bare Knuckle Pickups is a small, privately owned business based in the South West of England. The employees are all guitar players with experience in performing and recording. These guys know what they are doing and have quickly earned the reputation of building some of the best sounding pickups on the planet.
Using vintage correct fibre board and Alnico V magnets, both coils of the '60 PE J Bass set are hand-wound with 42AWG plain enamel wire. Accurate to late 1960 J Bass coils, the plain enamel wire produces a tighter coil with slightly more output and a more aggressive tone. The bottom-end is extremely defined with fast response to playing dynamics; mids are punchy and solid while the highs are clear with vowel-like reproduction. Both coils blended together allow for full hum-cancelling as the neck coil is RWRP and hookup is vintage correct black and white cloth 'push back ' to complete the vibe.
