Fender Custom Shop 1963 Custom Stratocaster Relic Faded Black

Item: FE9231005331

Imagine customizing a 1963 Stratocaster in almost every way possible, embellishing upon its timeless and classic design, and bringing this guitar up to modern day specs. Well this is exactly what Fender Custom Shop has done with their ’63 Stratocaster Custom, and here at Rainbow Guitars we’re loving it.

Fender started with a ’63 Strat, flattened the fretboard to a 9.5” radius, and fretted it with tall skinny 6105 fret wire for maximum playability. Next, a strategic pickup change was executed. The bridge pickup is a classic sounding ‘65 Strat PU, the neck is a warm, mellow sounding ’69 Strat PU, and the middle is a custom reverse wound, reverse polarity ’65 Strat PU that eliminates noise when the guitar is in positions 2 and 4. All this great sound is channeled through a modern 5-way pickup selector switch for tonal flexibility. If you like the vintage vibe, but find yourself accustomed to modern playing guitars, this could be the perfect axe for you. - Scott
