In celebration of both the early days of the Höfner violin bass and the 50th anniversary of Master Luthier Dieter Fischer's joining Höfner, comes the 500/1 Vintage 58 Reissue Violin Bass. Each 500/1 Vintage 58 is a handmade limited edition version of the 1958 close pick-up space violin bass with oval control panel. Only 58 were created and this particular bass is 3 of 58. Each "Certificate of Authenticity" has been signed by Master Luthier Dieter Fischer.

In 1956, Walter Höfner had an idea for a violin shaped semi-acoustic bass. Launched at that years Frankfurt Music Show, his idea revolutionized popular music. And, with continuous production from 1956, this bass is one of the few guitars available today that can trace it's origins back to the very beginning of Rock 'n' Roll.
