Whirlwind's Medusa Series Snakes have been the touring standard worldwide for more than three decades. They're still made in the U.S.A. at Whirlwind's Rochester, New York factory.
The Whirlwind Medusa snake on this product page is designated MS-24-4-XL-100, which indicates a snake with 24 inputs ("sends") at the stage box, 4 XLR returns (XLR Male connectors at the stage box with corresponding XLR Female connectors at the fan end), and 100 feet long.
Whirlwind Medusa snakes can be configured in many different ways:

- Number of Returns: from 0 to 10

- Whirlwind by Belden CM rated multipair cable, heavy duty, flexible, NEC CM rated multipair cable. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire
- Fanouts with multiple layers of rugged heat shrink at the most critical points
- Fanouts feature Whirlwind connectors with engraved numbers and letters.
- Genuine Kellems® wire mesh hanger to support the fanout at the board
