The Tonebone PZ-Pre™ instrument preamp begins with two inputs, selected using the toggle footswitch. Each input is equipped with a separate level control and piezo buffer with a 10meg Ohm input for optimum signal transfer. For those wishing to use two pickups on a single instrument, a unique Mix function is provided that allows the two inputs to be blended together using the level controls like a mixer. The tone shaping on the PZ-Pre features powerful low and high EQ controls plus a semi-parametric mid-range. To help eliminate troublesome feedback and low frequency resonance a variable frequency notch fi lter and low-cut (high pass) fi lter is also provided. An absolute phase reverse switch can also be engaged to help eliminate feedback on-stage.
To augment live performance, the PZ-Pre is equipped with a combination power booster and effects loop bus. A separate tuner output has also been provided along with a mute footswitch for, on-the-fl y, silent tuning. The PZ-Pre offers the most comprehensive output array ever: a standard instrument output (¼” phone jack) connects to the musician’s personal amplifi er, a PRE-EQ DI output (balanced XLR) is used to route the fl at, pre-effect signal to the front-of-house mixing console and a second POST-EQ DI output (post-effects) is for on-stage monitoring allowing the player to use the PZ-Pre controls to get their on-stage sound right.
Like all Radial products, the PZ-Pre features heavy-duty 14 gauge construction and is supported with a 3 Year transferable warranty. Comes equipped with an external 15VDC power supply.
