Earthworks PM40T Touring PianoMic System
The PianoMic™ has quickly become the microphone system of choice for live performance, recording studios and churches. Live piano performances on stage or in churches enjoy the best piano sound ever with incredible gain before feedback and no mic stands or booms. Recording studios can now record piano in the same room with other instruments with minimal leakage. The telescoping bar allows the PianoMic™ to be quickly and easily installed in nearly all grand pianos.
The PM40T Touring PianoMic™ System, offers the features and sonic performance of the PM40 PianoMic™ System while offering quick, simple, and easy setup, in a compact airline friendly carry-on case.
The PianoMic™ System was designed to revolutionize piano miking and achieve an incredible improvement in piano sound for live and recording applications with no mic stands or booms. There is more gain before feedback, significantly less leakage from surrounding instruments and the same pristine sound quality with the piano lid either up or down. It all started when sound contractors reported that they had tried all types of microphones and microphone pickup systems for pianos in churches. They didn’t like the sound they were getting, they didn’t like the microphone stands in front of the piano, they couldn’t get enough sound level before feedback and they were also getting leakage from nearby instruments into the piano microphones. In addition, engineers in recording studios told how difficult it was to record an acoustic piano in the same room with other instruments. When churches and recording studios took the PianoMic™ prototype for a test drive they were amazed and said it was an absolute winner, hands down! If you have a piano in a church, performing arts center or in a recording studio you too will be amazed when you see and hear the new Earthworks PianoMic™ System featuring Random Incidence High Definition Microphones™.
