Poor monitor mixes and excessive stage volumes are two of the most common problems encountered in sound systems.
In most cases, the single biggest source of on-stage volume is the musicians’ monitors and,
contrary to popular belief, musicians really don’t want their monitors rock-and-roll loud. To
play at their best, musicians need to hear themselves and one another, and that’s more about clarity than volume. By giving each musician his or her own personal monitor mix, Aviom helps lower the volume while elevating the sound quality to new heights—both on stage and in the sanctuary.
In simple terms, Aviom is a digital audio network or Ethernet. Analog sound is inputed into one of Aviom's input modules and distributed, via CAT-5 digital cable, to on-stage personal mixers (A-16II).
The Aviom System 4/D consists of four A-16II Personal Mixers, one A-16D A-Net Distributor, and one AN-16/i 16 channel line-level input module, four MT-1 mic stand mounts, and one L-25 25 ft. lay-flat CAT-5e cable.
Up to sixteen channels of audio are sourced from line level outputs at the sound console. These may be any combination of channel inserts, direct outs, aux sends or group outputs. The audio is converted to digital, and via the A-16D/Pro A-Net Distributor, the signals travel through CAT-5 cable to each of the four A-16II Personal Mixers.
The A-16II Personal Mixer provides each performer with up to 16 channels of audio from which he or she can create the mix they want. The A-16II Personal Mixer provides channel solo, mute, and group functions. Sixteen memory locations are available for storing preset mixes.
The Aviom System 4/D is but one of several Aviom systems available. Different system configurations, as well as individual Aviom components, are available here at RainbowGuitars.com.
