Tonally, an all-mahogany acoustic will respond with an earthy sound that has long been associated with blues and other roots music. Players can expect a dark, throaty midrange punch when digging in, yet there’s also an underlying sweetness in that same register that can complement a single-note line. Visually, Taylor has created a look that evokes a throwback Americana style, starting with a traditional mahogany stain, which gives the guitar a luminous deep-red tint. Tortoise shell binding adds the perfect touch of color harmony, while white purfling and an abalone rosette supply crisp counterpoints.
