Talk about "pre-space-aged-retro" design and shape. The Moderne has the eye-catchingly hip elements of the Flying V and Explorer's looks, but with an asymmetrical lower bout that makes the guitar much easier to play sitting down. The guitar features a Grade-A solid mahogany body and a solid quarter-sawn Grade-A mahogany neck with a deep-set neck joint. Topped off with the rare split-top headstock design as seen on the extremely rare Explorer models from the first year of production.
A pair of Gibson 57 Classic pickups captures the sound of the original PAF humbuckers and puts this instrument right into the stratosphere.
