Item: GBSPLCST02
After the creation of the first Super Jumbo Acoustic for Hollywood Movie Star Ray Whitley in 1937, Gibson released Catalog Z and introduced the world to the new and magnificent GIbson SJ-200.
The Golden Age 1930’s SJ200 captures the essence of this icon model as it traveled on its original journey in 1938 into the hands of the players, forever earning its place in music as “The King of The Flat Tops.”
And now for the first time ever, the skilled builders at Gibson Acoustics will release this very limited edition for those who wish to own and play a part of music history.
A limited run of 75 Rosewood 1930's SJ 200 guitars will be built. It features a period correct headstock shape with Gibson's 1938 script logo design. The Adironack Red Spruce top, hide glued braces and figured Rosewood back and sides make this one of the best sounding J200's you will ever hear.
