First manufactured in 1962 the Dove was Gibson's second square-shouldered dreadnought after the introduction of the Gibson Hummingbird. It has a solid spruce top and engraved pickguard. The Dove has solid maple back and sides and has the longer scale length (25.5" vs 24.75"). It's longer scale length and maple back and sides make it a bit louder and brighter sounding The guitar adourns double parallelogram fingerboard inlays, two doves on the bridge and the dove on the pickguard all made of mother of pearl.
