Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland Florentine Ebony VOS
Item: GBCQ11742001
The Gibson Byrdland was first released in 1955 after consultation with first-call Nashville session musicians Billy Byrd and Hank Garland. Outwardly every bit a Gibson, this model represented a handful of developments that were radical, even revolutionary, in its day. Designed with its thinner 2-1/4" body depth, 23.5" scale length, triple-loop Byrdland trapeze tailpiece and multi-ply binding finding a smoother playing and richer sounding electric guitar would prove to be a difficult task. And having it finished in an extrely rare Ebony VOS finish gives it that extra touch to put this one at the top of anyones list.
