It started out as a collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop on an exceptionally warm week in Tucson, Arizona last October. The goal: embark upon their first joint venture to recreate some of their favorite Gibson guitars. By the time the last chile relleno was devoured a rather robust list of ideas were agreed upon.
First up, the 1965 Firebird models V and VII sprayed in original custom-color finishes. Taken from the 1965 Gibson catalog, we have recreated all your favorite finishes including Heather Poly, Pelham Blue, Golden Mist Poly, Inverness Green Poly and Frost Blue.
Gibson introduced the Non Reversed Firebird body style in 1965. The 3 pickup version known as the Firebird VII has 3 great sounding mini humbucking pickups, the long Maestro vibrato tailpiece,'60s profile neck and 24½" scale. A visually stunning body shape is even more enhanced with this unique and very limited Pelham Blue finish.
