Manufactured in the Custom Shop by Gibson’s world renown craftsman in Nashville Tennessee this is where you will find their finest version of the 1959 ES 335. The attention to detail is at its highest standard and the extra “mojo” makes this 335 pure joy to play. With the right feeling '59 neck shape once you put your hands on it you won't want to put it down.
In addition to its period-correct look for 2013 Gibson Custom has recreatated the legendary tone of the original model by utilizing a pair of Gibson’s Custom Bucker humbucking pickups, which are the closest thing to original “PAF” pickups on the market today. High-quality CTS volume and tone potentiometers with “bumble bee” capacitors offer a fundamental electronics package, thus insuring the guitar’s unique tone is captured and delivered with the utmost accuracy and originality.
Other new appointments include the truss rod in the mahogany neck has been unsheathed from its tube encasing from previous years, and the neck is fitted to the body with hide glue. These changes help increases the resonance of the instrument, and the hide-glue also is helpful in removing the neck of the guitar for repair without damaging the surrounding wood of the body. The Kluson Deluxe tuners have been redesigned, with a proper vintage shape and color. Also, the fretboard and body binding has been darkened color-wise for a more vintage-accurate look.
