Fender Custom Shop 1962 Hardtail Stratocaster Closet Classic Sonic Blue

Item: FE9231005731

Here’s a 1962 Hardtail Stratocaster that I custom spec’d for Rainbow Guitars. This fine instrument has some wonderful features you won’t find anywhere else. The neck back shape is the Modern “C” profile, but the radius has been changed to 9.5”, and the frets have been changed to 6105s. We’ve created a new neck that is immediately comfortable to the modern player as well as the vintage enthusiast. I chose Custom Shop 1969 Strat pickups for that classic Strat sound we all love, and had it wired through a modern 5-way selector. Many Strat players, including myself, have their guitar’s trem set to be clamped down against the body creating a virtual hardtail. With a real hardtail, you retain more wood in the body of the guitar, and lose the associated weight of the trem’s block and springs, bringing this Stratocaster in at under 7 lbs. Obviously, I’m very excited about the ’62 Hardtail Stratocaster, it’s a real winner and one of my new favorites. Do not hesitate to buy this one today. - Scott
